Prickly and Sharp (Giveaway Winner)

Michele Oleary

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 (NIV)

As I walked past my favorite spot near my home, I noticed the wildflowers scattered across the rolling hill. This spot tends to make me pause each time I am near it.

I titled the above picture on my Facebook post, "A Little Piece of Heaven" and deep within me, I know it is true.

As I study the picture, beauty is just steps away, but I could not move forward due to a hindrance that was prickly and sharp.

Bobwire.

My heart stirred a bit, and I realized my spiritual life and thoughts are not so different at times.

Prickly and Sharp.

In my life walk, I stop, and spot beauty all around me but hindrance freezes me from moving forward.

The bobwire of life prevents me from moving into the pasture of God's presence. Of His peace.

He whispers my name to join Him but fear seeps in, and the sharp, twisted metal of doubt cuts into the core of my soul.

Beauty is steps away, but sometimes I just can not move past myself, past the past, or know He has equipped me for such a times as this.

I wonder if your heart might feel the same way.

We allow that Sneaky Satan to snatch our joy in the plans God has for you and me.

Plans to stroll with the Still and Know.

Plans to encourage others with written or verbal words.

Plans to dream big and grand.

Plans to live for Him time and time again.

Girls, we are brave and bold, and joy breaks us free to leap over the bondage maker and
cut ourselves free with the Cross of Christ.

God's biggest desire is for us to truly be set-free from the bobwire of life.

I look back at my "Little Piece of Heaven, " and His Peace of joy pours over me once again.
