"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15:11 (NIV)
I see a joy-spreader each week in my local grocery store.
A true southern gentleman who always has a twinkle in his eyes and a sunshine smile on his face.
Harrison is his name.
A gentle, Jesus lover.
Harrison passes out bread samples several times a week in the bakery area of the store. He does it like no other. He does it with love.
Harrison doesn't push Jesus on us folks who stop by his area for samples.
He illuminates the light of Jesus in his kind words, southern manners, and the power of Christ's presence as he serves others.
There is something about Harrison that makes me look for him each time I am in the store. I am comforted in Harrison's presence as we talk for just a short minute each time I visit with him.
The other day as I walked away with my bread sample in hand, I glanced over my shoulder to look back at my friend, and there was his sunshine smile and his twinkle eyes looking at me. He said, "Have a good day, sweetheart."
Warmness filled my eyes and peace flowed into my heart because I felt it was Jesus speaking to me through His servant, Harrison.
We could take a lesson from my southern, gentleman friend.
To spread Jesus on others in our day to day life-walk.
That is what Harrison places on me each time I see him.
A piece of the Love-Christ of the cross.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
