Psalm 9:1 (NIV) "I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds."
This is the month of thanksgiving. Where we focus on the blessings from God. This week, as I was reading "One Thousand Gifts Devotional" by Ann Voskamp, God set it on my heart that Thanksgiving is placed before Christmas for a reason. The two holidays are meshed into one. Thanksgiving prepares our hearts and flows right into Christ-mas. Not separate, but the same. The Thanks-heart soaks in the Greatest Gift: Our Savior. This week, as you glean, focus and prepare your heart for Thanksgiving remembering what is to come next...the celebration of Life. His grace-loving life.
November's giveaway will help you remember to "Be Still and Know". It is a beautifully hand-crafted bracelet by artisans living in Kibera, Kenya, the largest slum in Africa. Karama Collection is a company that supports and empowers the poor in Africa. They lead people to the water and teach them to fish, to overcome poverty. All their pieces are beautiful. A fantastic company to find Christmas gifts and support a god-loving cause.
For a chance to win this beautiful bracelet leave a comment below or on the Casual Conversations Facebook Page describing your favorite, yummy Thanksgiving dish. Also, share my site with a friend who might enjoy Casual Conversations and some encouragement from God. I will select and announce the winner on Monday, November 28th.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJ) "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
Give Thanks, no matter the season of life. Be still and know He is always with you.
Happy Thanksgiving. Love, Michele
